Tributes to Vic...
R.I.P Dad. Im devastated that you’re gone. We still had many conversations to have and much music to listen to. Ill remember you always.
Having a few plonks for you tonight Vic. We will miss you so much xx
Love you so much Vic, best step dad and mate ever.
So many fond memories sitting around a fire drinking great wine and eating amazing food.
RIP
So sudden. I don’t think anyone expected Vic to leave us like this. If Vic had his way, he would still be having a yellow can in front of the fire, playing his obscure country songs wearing his overalls and cowboy hat. Rest in peace, Vic.
In absolute shock ‘uncle vic’. Have so many fond memories of growing up, our two families together, you and dad drinking your reds….I feel so blessed to have known you. Loads of love xxx
RIP Vic,
Our catch up after 49 years was short and we never were granted the time to lower the boom on some ferals. We’ll meet again some day.
Stand to, ‘Big Vic’.
Tony..
We formed a motor cycle group called the “HOWLRS (hairy old white line riders) . Vic was an intergrel part of this and we did many rides around parts of Australia, many good nights we held around the camp with Vic’ ditties, his stories and his famous “ bloody Mary’s” his love of the bush, hunting, his family, which he spoke of often and Maria. Every now and then , I would get a late night call from Vic or Tack as we knew him and he would say” Karlypoos, I am pissed, how are you mate” I am thankful I knew Tack and will miss him dearly, good bye my friend and all my love to Maria and family, Karl
In 1963 I walked Into GMH Woodville To Start My Apprenticeship….. A Bloke Came Up To Me And Said “My Names Vic ” That Was Our Introduction …It Was The Start Of A Mate ship That Has Lasted All These years …A Lot Of Good Times Copius Quantities Of Good Red Wine And The Odd Beer And Plenty Of Fun !!!! Dot & I will Cherish These Memories For The Rest Of Our Time ….Our Two Girls Will Also Miss Their Uncle Vic….To Maria and The Barnes Family Our Sincere Condolences , With Love & Hugs To You All xxxx
I met Vic at the inaugural meeting of a new wine and food club in the early 70’s and we became lifelong friends.
Although we did not see much of each other over the last few years, when we did catch up it was as if we’d seen each other the day before, such is the bond between true mates
I am stunned at his passing,he was my oldest friend.
RIP Vic and my deepest sympathy to Maria and family
Richer for having known Him.
Sincere condolences from the Goolwa Beefsteak & Burgundy Club – a minute’s silence will be observed for Vic at our next dinner meeting. John Worthley, Secretary.
Thinking of you Maria at this very sad time. Love Madeleine & John Worthley
My dearest besty riding mate for many years. Vic would ring “Hey breals, just having a yella can.” I reply, “so am I” Vic reply, “I approve”. A great loss of mateship. All I have is to remember our great trips and socializing. RIP.

Looking for my biological Father, I learnt he had passed by 3 years prior and this us how I came to meet my Uncle Vic. I saw through Vic maybe some snippets of my Father but got to meet a great man. “Just one more before dinner!” With that, like two little kids we would giggle about this for most of the night getting merrier and merrier. Silly things you remember but Vic was a funny bugger and I was so proud to call him my Uncle. Plonk on Vic. RIP mate and say g’day to Dean for us.
Uncle Vic – introduced me to Dire Straits “Love over Gold” album on vinyl – and i agree its the only way to listen to it. I am so glad we got to catch up at Dads birthday last year. So many funny memories of my childhood involved you being at a bbq or gathering with mum and dad. xxxx
Vic it was an honour & a privilege to call you my friend. Your kindness & willingness to help both Bert & I will never be forgotten. The humourous banter we shared will be a treasured memory. Thank you for being there, you’ll be greatly missed by the Auburn community.
Our condolences to the family for your loss. Sorry we couldn’t make it. Love Darryle, Heidi, jade and Akira.
